Bbro had a positive swab and is now isolating, along with his housemate. Fortunately they're both young and healthy and he isn't seriously ill, just feeling a bit grotty. I'd like to send him a care package though as a surprise. People who've had to isolate, could you possibly spare a moment to tell me what you would have liked? His friend lives round the corner and has dropped off all the basics. He's vegan btw, so any vegan posters especially welcome Smile

One of my DBs dropped off food to another DB - largely consisted of pizza and haribo, so probably not that helpful!

Other suggestions:
Paracetamol
Vitamins D and C and zinc
Favourite drinks or sweets - though perhaps not if sense of taste has gone
Humidifiers to hang on radiators
House water bottle - good on upper back if uncomfortable
Fleecy blanket
Fruit and Veg box
Tinned soup and other easy to heat meals
Netflix password
Puzzles
Puzzle books
Nice bubble bath

How about some vegan pick n mix? And a box set for something you think he'd enjoy? I can recommend Sweetzy for the P&M. Perhaps some kind of food delivery voucher for him to buy himself food or meals (vouchers for gousto/mindful chef?)? Depending what he's into you could also get something for him and housemate to entertain themselves with - escape room in a box? Buy them an online murder mystery or similar? I recommend Murdered for Money for online mysteries x

Has he lost his sense of taste? Or is it distorted? If so, don’t bother about the nice food and drink!
Magazines or other reading material for when his eyes hurt from too much screen time!
Card game - make sure it can be played with 2 players. Uno is quite cheap.

Thanks everyone, LOVE the idea of humidifiers and escape room in a box! He hasn't lost her s sense of taste as far as I know, but some back pain so will throw in a hwb as well

I loved the stick on heat pads, some last for 12-24 hours which meant I didn’t need to faff round with hot water. I was very dizzy and disoriented though so getting up was a problem for me.

Recommending Monopoly Deal as a good card game.

BlindAssassin1 · 20/01/2021 09:13

Check what he's craving. I just wanted to eat crisp, ready salted, nothing else. And endless cups of decaf black tea with lemon.

I was also dumb as a brick with brain fog, so a Netflix pass or similar would be amazing. Also, how about a dressing gown of doom, or a blanket. I was freezing all the time.

withaheyandahoandaheyheyho · 20/01/2021 16:00

@BlindAssassin1 he has already donned the dressing gown of doom, so no worries there 😆. He's requested strawberry yoghurt though, so I've dropped some off along with some heat pads. @Lovelydoveyut eyeing up Monopoly Deal for me and DP

Also keeping an eye on Sweetzy for future Xmas/ birthday presents @batinahat
This thread is turning out to be surprisingly useful, gift buying wise.
Update: DB is ok. Some back pain but mainly just bored.
