DH is young, fit and healthy.

He has over the last few days felt very run down, full/heavy head feeling, slightly hot to the touch and his sense of taste is mildly reduced. He can still taste everything but not as strong on some items of food/drink.

He says he feels as though it's just a run of the mill cold which obviously were hopeful it is!

I believe we should book a test.

Exactly those so yes book a test.

IndieRo · 19/01/2021 15:25

I was just going to ask the same. Sore back, slight headache, pains in my knees and ankles and sleeping lots. I've no cough or cold. I was thinking maybe something viral but not necessarily covid

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 19/01/2021 15:34

Yes same @IndieRoall those are symptoms so get a test.

Sharww · 19/01/2021 15:43

I had hot and cold sweats overnight for a few nights, and complete loss of taste and smell.

5m old baby a temperature and cough.

DH delirious, almost hallucinating, low oxygen levels, sweating, generally feeling absolutely shocking. Didn’t require hospital treatment but spent a couple nights quietly thinking he wouldn’t see the morning.

Get tested :)

leafcar · 19/01/2021 15:45

Forgot to mention he has a lot of mucous too...?

Hi we have had mild symptoms so far but still only a few days in!
I have been feeling achy, headaches and generally like I had a cold for a week now and then developed a cough at the weekend.
DH spent a few days aching, headaches and just feeling a bit rubbish and then at the weekend he lost his sense of smell and taste.
We mainly feel run down, achy and hot/cold like we have the flu so far.
Fingers crossed we won't get any worse, we are both late 20s and healthyish 🤞

aww thanks! We’re all good. Had it back in May. We knew we’d inevitably all get it as DH is a doctor and was on covid wards at the time so it was a matter of time. His work offered to pay for him to stay in a hotel but with no other support allowed and triple feeding/pumping round the clock due to low supply I simply couldn’t cope all alone 24/7 with a baby who wasn’t sleeping considering I had to pump instead of sleep 😔

At the time we both said god how are we gonna cope alone with a baby with all three of us infected but somehow we did. DH still considers it the worst fortnight of his entire life. No long term effects for any of us! And even though there’s nothing to say we can’t be re infected I was quite glad to get it out of the way early.

Lost our sense of smell, me a day after DH, which rang alarm bells as two of DH’s office were off with it. We got tested and were positive. His office dropped like flies over the next few days.

No smell or taste, very very light cough for three days, very very slight fatigue one day. Sneezed a few times and been bunged up.

Not felt Ill at all, temperature around 36.5 throughout.

Jessuk86 · 19/01/2021 19:12

My 3 year old has it and has cough intermittent but when it happens it’s a dry cough, high temperature, Aches in her legs, sore throat and feels sick...and they say kids don’t get it bad poor little thing is suffering. Think my 2 year old may need testing tomorrow as he’s been hot to the touch today although his temperature reads as normal and have had a few coughs this evening. I was vaccinated 1st dose 9 days ago so will be interesting to see if I get it I feel like a colds brewing but also had a crap night sleep as DD was up half the night with a fever, and my OH has no symptoms yet.

justwinginglife1 · 19/01/2021 22:39

DH tested positive at the weekend. He had a slight cough, headache, was feeling more tired than usual and then lost his taste and smell. It's been 3 days since his positive result and he says he doesn't feel too bad, I'm not sure if he has it mild or if more is yet to come.

Myself and DC are isolating at home with him but trying to keep away from him as much as we can. I today have started to have cold like symptoms - stuffy nose, slight headache and feeling tired.

When you book a test online it asks you if you have at least 1 of 3 symptoms - those being a temperature, cough and loss of taste/smell. I don't have any of those symptoms, just what I have mentioned above. Has anyone else had just these symptoms and still tested positive? I'm thinking I should book a test in the morning but I'm not sure if I'm panicking and should wait a bit longer to see if I develop any of the other symptoms

bluejelly · 19/01/2021 22:46

@justwinginglife1 I would book a test - if you live with someone who is Covid+ you're going to have a high chance of catching it. When it comes to booking the test just say you have the symptoms.

bluejelly · 19/01/2021 22:47

@justwinginglife1 and hope you and your DH feel better soon!

What were your symptoms?

My first symptom was feeling tired and run down, but I put it down to working a long run of shifts as we were short staffed due to other colleagues testing positive (NHS). Then I slowly started to feel a bit tight chested as the day wore on, which I thought was an asthma flare up. This led to a cough. Then I had a temp of 38. This came on slowly over a couple of days. I won't say what happened after that as it was all down hill from there!

Hot to the touch combined with everything else; I would definitely isolate and test. Hopefully you have been isolating already. Good luck!

PammieDooveOrangeJoof · 20/01/2021 08:25

My first and overwhelming symptom was a banging headache when I woke up every morning.
Then had numerous other symptoms.
At this moment I don’t know anyone with a virus that is not covid. And I know lots of people who had just had or have covid!
I am so annoyed the government don’t just change the list of symptoms as not everyone gets the ‘three’ symptoms and everyone I know has had a headache!
They are putting off so many people from
Testing as they think they don’t have the symptoms of covid. They do! Just not the ones the government has chosen to put on their (tiny) list.
If you feel off in anyway at the moment, chances are it’s covid.

Update - DH test came back negative Grin

I tested positive on Monday. No symptoms other than a VERY slight sore feeling in throat. Doesn't hurt to swallow or anything though. Hard to describe. Other than that I'm fine

Peculiartimes · 22/01/2021 01:21

Was incredibly tired the week before test and had to sleep more but disregarded the fact due to have a demanding job. Upset stomach but again, could have been anything. One day the loss of smell came and I got tested (positive).

Carrotcakefiend · 22/01/2021 01:35

I had it pre-first-lockdown in March.... When the only really recognised symptoms were temperature and a continuous dry cough.

We'd been for a hike in the day, and I suddenly felt very hot, achy, tired, and irritable when we got home. Woke up in the night sweating with a banging headache. Then followed days of being able to/wanting to sleep all the time and feeling really foggy headed. I lost my sense of taste and smell completely on day 3/4 and it was totally gone for a month (!) I also felt like someone had filled the bottom of my lungs with tar and omg my legs and joints ached. I frantically googled/mumsnetted but at the time everyone was being told about the cough, which I only got in week 2. I began to feel better and brighter in week 3 but it took me several more weeks to get my strength back and to get back to running.

Now I look at it all written down, it knocked me a bit but at the time people were being hospitalised and dying so I felt I got off very lightly!

DH? He didn't isolate immediately because it just wasn't clear, and his only symptom was that he ran 10km one minute slower. Which he wanted about. Ugh!
