Covid cough?

I think I'm being paranoid but would appreciate some objective views.

I had a coughing and spluttering fit yesterday evening (something went down the wrong way). It was pretty major (DH and DD both came downstairs to see if I was ok).

Since then, I've been coughing a few times an hour. Not major coughing fits just "cough, cough" and that's it. So it's a "new" cough since yesterday. No other covid symptoms at all.

Just wondering whether a big coughing fit can cause an irritation which leads to this type of on-off cough?? Or whether I should be getting tested ASAP.

Effectively self isolating in any case as we are WFH and not going out at all.

Thanks

Get tested. The initial coughing fit may be coincidence- or it may not - but you have a cough now so you meet the criteria.

Yep agree with PP -get tested. My cough was not what I would call persistent, just a silly occasional cough and I tested positive.

Thanks both. Cough no worse today and no other symptoms, but have booked a test. Fingers crossed it's nothing.

Glad you’ve booked a test. There’s really no other way to know.

Fingers crossed for a negative result for you.

I had an annoying little tickly cough all day Sunday, no other symptoms. Ordered a test just in case it was actually Covid and not and a random dog hair. Grin

My test was negative and coughing has reduced. Feel a bit guilty for using NHS resources, but no other way of knowing.
@Blondiney - have you had your result? Hope also negative.

You did the right thing.

Yep, negative too. Thank god!
