false negative PCR test

Anyone had a false negative Covid test? (PCR at drive through site) Just wondering as DS 18 has had a high temperature since Thursday night, had a test yesterday and it's come back negative. I'm a teacher at a special school so worries me a bit.

Yes I did, I think I tested too early. DS had symptoms and I had coughed maybe 6 times that day but felt perfectly well - his test +, mine - .
3 days later I tested again as symptoms increased +

@DottyWott so he started symptoms on Thursday & tested Friday. I'd have thought not to early but who knows?
