Waitrose Delivery Slots

Does anyone know what time they are released?

We booked regular deliveries throughout the year until Christmas. However since the new lockdown, they are all fully booked no matter what time we look!

Does anyone know what time they are released or how to get one? Or even why they are all booked up - barring the obvious reason that people don’t want to go to the shops. Have they restricted them to CEV? Or is there some secret portal to book them?

I am CV and don’t want to have to go to the supermarket. And I like Waitrose food the best.

Don’t know but they are on deliveroo in some areas! Or can you use click and collect?

We reckon they’re usually released around midnight. DH is prone to bouts of insomnia and has had success getting them in the early hours when he can’t sleep. No luck at any remotely sociable hour.

Had the same problem since xmas so I've switched to sainsburys, working nicely for me

previously used to book waitrose at 6am on the day my slot was released (I believe midnight) but even that stopped working at xmas and I need my sleep so not staying up to book!

Thanks everyone. We did stay up once in the hope of getting one, but there still weren’t any, or any click and collect. Can’t keep staying up as we need to work, but we will try again.

I will also check Deliveroo.

Never snagged one at night. Normally score one in the morning but it has to be 2 weeks ahead and I've given up beingapologetic about picking a rush hour slot.

I'm not sure if it is size of store that affects Waitrose slots, I have just looked at ours and there is availability but there always is, our store is one of the very large ones though, a lot are quite small, I haven't noticed that slots appear at a particular time though, the available ones are dotted about

We are on their ECV list so get first dibs in on the slots for a few days. We are finding it harder to get slots at sensible times over the last couple of weeks.

Before we had ECV slots we found they were released to everyone else about 1:30-2:00 am. And yes. I did set an alarm once a week.

can you do click and collect? they sometimes have more of those.

There are very few slots, especially at the smaller stores, because of increased demand. They ask you to book a maximum of one slot a week and the vulnerable get first priority to see available slots, which is as it should be. There is an online form to complete if you would like them to consider registering you as a priority customer.

Like other supermarkets, the website can crash at busy times and customers leaving their amendments until the last minute - 12 noon the day before for Waitrose, later for other supermarkets - might also find they don't get them even if they get the confirmation email as normal. They will get their original order instead.

Waitrose seem to be handling things quite well on the whole, although the release of Christmas slots was a shambles this year, leaving some of the most vulnerable without a delivery that week.

They are also having problems with people booking slots but cancelling them at the last minute. It is usually the same people, so I think customer services should put a stop to them. We all have last minute emergencies which mean we have to alter plans, but these seem to be people just selfishly hedging their bets or block booking. Last minute cancellation means it's too late for anyone else to use the slot and so it goes to waste while other people go without.

I can’t get one for love nor money. But my local stores are in the smaller side (zone 2 London). Shame as I do like their stuff and miss it since Ocado switched but if I can’t get a slot then I’m going to stick with the consistent supplier
