Hi,
Both me and dp work for the NHS, him on a ward me in the community. The ward has had quite a significant covid outbreak. My dm provides a lot of childcare for my 1 Yr old. Dp has suggested me and dd move in with my mum with current outbreak, part of me thinks it makes sense, especially as we both still have to work and dm will still look after dd on certain days.
But the other part of me thinks its a bit overkill, that's a few weeks with not seeing dp, dd not having her own things around her. Routines changed.
What would you do?

It seems quite sensible to minimise your risk. 1 year olds are adaptable and actually a change of scenery could be a good thing, can I come too?

It also sounds as though your DP is concerned about bringing infection home, I think I would do it if it made him feel better.

I think there's a lot of over reaction to covid and a lot of people seemingly unable to make sensible risk assessments. But in your case I'd say you are not over reacting. Given that your DP is exposed to covid on a daily basis there's a significant risk that he'll become infectious and pass it on. If you're worried about your DD missing home could you ask DM and DP to swap where they are living?

It's not forever if you make this swap - luckily!

Thanks both, although dm and dp swapping is a great idea DM has my brothers at home still youngest is 16, and I only have a 2 bed flat so wouldn't fit everyone here.

Sounds cautious but not unreasonable to me.

@Redcherries I think a change of scenery may do dd the world of good, and having more people to play with, with her 2 uncles living with nana also
