Heard on the radio this morning that 1 in 3 people are infected but have no symptoms, totally unaware and going about their business. So.....if this is the case, how is it spreading so fast? I get that they are passing it on as they are infected and not aware....BUT....are the 1 in 3 not producing antibodies and therefore building immunity in themselves so after 10-14 days become immune and do not catch it again? Hope this makes sense, can anyone explain why the virus is spreading and not dying down? Am I missing something/not understanding properly?

It’s 1 in 3 people who have coronavirus, not 1 in 3 people in the country (sorry, maybe you knew that, it wasn’t totally clear from your post).
The asymptomatic people will (probably) have some immunity, but basically there’s still not been enough cases to get up to a level needed to slow down the spread. I think you need 60-80% of people to have immunity, and we’re not at that even with asymptomatic cases.

Hopefully that’s right, if not someone else will probably explain it better!
