We got a letter to book an appointment for my 95 year old father, but all the centres are very far away, like 15 miles at least, and we have no car. Does anyone know what happens if we can't take this up? Will anyone know and offer him something else, or will he be forgotten. The GP is refusing to take calls and we don't know where else to ask. Anyone got any experience?

There are more local ones coming on stream in next week or so , he might have to wait longer though. Are there any volunteer driver services?

There was a section on the news earlier this week, seems like a lot of people have found the letters confusing.

It looks like there will be other options for those who can't make it to the big hubs for whatever reason.

Thanks so much. That is reassuring. For someone largely housebound it is pretty daunting.
