A lot of private schools use them, including at my son's school.

So he has his GCSEs going ahead pretty much as normal.

Another nail in the equality and fairness coffin.

IB exams are going ahead too, totally unfair to IB students who will be competing for university places alongside teacher assessed A Level grades.

GCSEs may be going ahead as well now in the form of 'mini exams'

Some A levels are also going ahead too.
They will also have to compete for uni with the majority of A level students having reached assessed grades.

*teacher assessed that should read.

In this case, admissions selectors may give different weights to different types of exam results based on the overall performance (particular the top Uni/popular programmes). Anyway, university places will remain the same and they will try to select the best applicants.

We’re really pleased that they’re going ahead. I think the others should go ahead too. Allowances can be made.

Somebodyotherthanme · 13/01/2021 17:22

But will they be made?
