Josh Halliday @JoshHalliday
Since last night the government has been fiercely denying our mass-testing story about daily rapid tests not having regulatory approval.

We knew the story to be true. The MHRA has just confirmed for the first time publicly that it is true:

WTF are the government playing at?!

Are they just going to keep on denying things, despite there being evidence saying it’s true?!

noblegiraffe · 15/01/2021 16:51

They’re just flat out lying about it now? Wtf?

They will because the majority of the general public will take what they say as gospel and won't take the time to check if it is true or not.

"They will because the majority of the general public will take what they say as gospel and won't take the time to check if it is true or not."

Well, we see evidence of that her on MN all the time. We're STILL seeing people spouting that "there's no evidence" of spread in schools and of teachers being at risk, and quoting the same figures as were quoted back in April, when schools were closed.

Of course, after all the government/politicians never lie and can be trusted implicitly.

this lot have been doing that brazenly since they lied about Brexit in 2016
FrippEnos · 15/01/2021 17:12

Letsgetthroughthis

The teachers union advocates on MN misrepresent this in a spectacular fashion. It's a real shame.

Whilst you are posting bullshit like this you really have no right calling other postings derogatory.

@heLacksnotluster

Exam years should be in NOW. This is making me so angry. I want to March on Whitehall. I would love to see the homeschooling set up of the children of the cabinet ministers. I’m only asking for a fraction of the privilege they are afforded AngryAngry
The government needs to comes up with a firm plan before that happens.

And that isn't only on how they will be assessed but how they will go back to school in a safe and sustainable manner.

noblegiraffe · 15/01/2021 17:23

Who are the teachers union advocates anyway? When people spout shit like that they usually mean ‘noblegiraffe’. Especially when they’ve had their previous personal attack on me deleted so are avoiding naming names.

Dunno what union I’m supposed to be advocating for, the one I’m in is a bit crap.

FrippEnos · 15/01/2021 17:27

noblegiraffe

I suspect that anyone that spouts the "union advocate" detritus are U4T shills.

BustopherPonsonbyJones · 15/01/2021 17:51

I am beginning to feel as if I’m living in China, the Soviet Union or a George Orwell novel. Their lying is becoming more blatant as they realise they are getting away with it.

I mean the government, not U4T, although now I think about it...

Porcupineintherough · 16/01/2021 13:54

I am beginning to feel as if I'm living in China

If we were living in China thousands of us wouldnt be dying of coronavirus, work and schools would be open and we'd be able to see family and friends. Lots of reasons to criticize the Chinese regime but comparing their response to coronavirus to our half-arsed bungling is ludicrous.

BustopherPonsonbyJones · 17/01/2021 15:21

Both are shit but, on reflection. I’ll take the half-arsed bungling as at least I’m allowed to criticise them 😁. Out of preference, I’d go for no half-arsed bungling and freedom of speech, of course.

@sundowners

yes noblegiraffe yes thanks I can read unlike many primary school age children... Maybe go back and re-read your response, as you didn't answer anything with actual intelligence or fact, just called me stupid.

What an excellent role model to your children you are, clap clap. You don't agree with someone's opinions? No, don't make a clear, calm, consider, fact based, intelligent argument in response. Just call them stupid!

When you see stupid there's not much point in dressing up as anything other than stupid.

I just do not fully understand how China are in such a good position now. Yes much stricter lockdown and the way they run the country. But the virus originated there and no other strains seem to have developed or reached China, basically next to nothing. Am I the only one who finds it all quite odd.

No. Its because they have been absoluetely draconian.

I've seen a story today about how one travelling salesman has triggered a region wide lockdown down today. He was assymptomatic. He apparently managed to infect about 100 cases. This is because track everyone in the country and he's the common link.

Quarantine restrictions are really harsh. You have to quarantine to enter the country and you have to quarantine if you are travelling into certain areas if you are only travelling internally. There's no mucking about - you can't go home - you get put in a state facility and charged for it.

There's no new variants in China because they have kept the number of cases low since the inital outbreak. The most cases you have, the more chance of mutation. They haven't given the virus the opportunity for this.

And add to this that China isn't necessarily being transparent. There may have been localised outbreaks we don't know about because of state control.
