Has anyone had the Pfizer vaccine and then had a "dodgy stomach/bowels" afterwards?

Had my jab earlier was fine all day apart from achy arm now having a dreadful time but dont know whether a bug or just side effect.

Any advice? Really should be in work tomorrow...

I had Nausea and very painful arm but I know people that had sickness and upset stomachs too.

yearnewwhatever · 12/01/2021 21:36

I had nausea and head ache / sore arm. No upset tummy though.

Papergirl1968 · 12/01/2021 21:42

A friend told me that someone she knows had an upset stomach in the car on the way home...

Bixs · 12/01/2021 21:45

I didn’t realise they told you whether you were having the Pfizer or the Oxford vaccine.

Sewrainbow · 12/01/2021 21:50

They will tell you @Bixs as they document all the batch numbers etc and when you have the second dose it must be the same brand, so my 2nd dose will need to be Pfizer not Oxford. Don't get a choice though contrary to what some people think!

Thanks for the replies, I thought I felt a bit better but having a tea and something to eat and my stomach feels dreadful again, arm really hurting now too 😕

My dad had the same, it must be a side effect. He also had a sore arm

TheOriginalNutty · 12/01/2021 22:09

I had nausea, slightly upset tummy, swollen armpit, chills, fever and exhaustion.

I've actually booked 3 days off work following my second jab in March.

CoffeeandCroissant · 12/01/2021 22:21

Vomiting and diarrhea were exceptions, and similar between vaccine and placebo groups and regardless of dose.

Good point @TheOriginalNutty I wish I'd booked mine for tomorrow as I'm off Thursday. Might change my next appointment....

Those of you who had the dodgy stomach how long did it last?

robertval3 · 08/02/2021 08:59

yes i have had a dodgy bowel since jab, and a sicky feeling, seem to have gone off coffee? Had jab last wednesday (pfizer one)

Purplewithred · 08/02/2021 09:07

Warning: I felt ill the afternoon after my jab. Better the day after that but got a test anyway. I was Covid +ve. Might be worth testing for peace of mind if you have classic covid symptoms especially if they last any amount of time.
