Do I need a test... occasional cough

I am not sure if I need a test I work in a school in a fairly high risk area. Over the last 24 hours I have coughed a few times more than usual. It’s not really bad but I have coughed a few times and normally I don’t I know this sounds silly but should I request a test or should I just see what happens with the cough?? I don’t want to waste anyone’s time

I should state it’s not continuous and I haven’t had any coughing episodes just a few coughs throughout the day

I would, as it's a new cough.

3 episodes of coughing in 24h is a 'continuous cough'. Please isolate and get a test, especially if you're working in a school.

Agree, I’m currently positive, and tested positive with no symptoms. Then came a pathetic little tickly cough just a few times a day, maybe 2-3 times with just 3 gentle coughs, not mad continuous barking cough.

Then I lost my sense of smell. Just fatigued now, so far no other symptoms.

I would get a test & isolate. I noticed my elderly dad was coughing a little more than often last week. No other symptoms. He tested positive. He lives in sheltered accommodation and some residents were asymptomatic. Thankfully he seems to have got off lightly with it.

Yes. Test and isolate until your results are back.

My ds had a little cough just a few times in the morning and it came back positive. I really thought it was going to be negative as the cough was so slight. I thought I was just being ultra cautious.

I tested positive after just slight cough & subsequently losing my appetite completely. DH tested positive few days before so was on the alert for it. Did not develop any further symptoms - now 18 days since then and feeling fine apart from the occasional cough.
