Will GCSE marks be standardised between schools this year?

So will an 8 from one school be equal to an 8 from another school for example. I know with CAGS DC are ranked and a certain number given a certain mark so how will this work if one schools GCSE cohort are very behind compared to another school. Finding the whole thing baffling.

And just discovered that GCSE mocks are done completely differently between schools so a DC getting an 8 for a mock from one school might only get a 6 for the same standard of work at another school.

There will have to be some sort of moderation. We don't know the details yet though. End of Feb they reckon.

Last year we had to standardise against our own historic school’s performance rather than other schools. That’s a big issue for rapidly improving schools or cohorts that are academically better than their previous ones.

Goodness knows what will happen this year. With gav in charge, you know it isn’t going to be good.

They will do some sort of check to standardise the marking as much as possible. They really don't want the inflated grade accusations like last year. Why they haven't figured this out already is beyond me - they've had months to come up with a plan.

I'm not sure how they'll manage to make it fair between schools. What if some schools have no DC at a 7 plus this year? Will marks at that school just be really low? I can't seem the school being happy about that and how it will reflect on them.
