So its not enough for the PM to merrily stroll around his MASSIVE grounds. It's not enough he can walk his dogs around the grounds of Buckingham palace. Now he needs to be driven (according to daily mail - I notice BBC are not commenting on whether he was driven and dropped, or cycled the full way) 7 miles to have a jolly, cycling about with his entarage and buddy.

I honestly wouldn't care if Matt Hancock had not been on the TV only YESTERDAY defending the police for fining the two woman who drove only 5 miles for a walk.

When will the government learn that they are not special. Not only do they have to comply with their own rules, but they also have to set an example???

Well I shall be driving 7 miles on the weekend to take my kids for a cycle ride around our "local" lake. I didn't think it was allowed, but apparently it is, so we shall have a lovely time.

And next week I might take a trip to Barnard castle as I need an eye test but I can't get to Specsavers.

So you’re using your disapproval of the actions of Boris and Dominic Cummings to justify doing the same thing?

Nice.

IHateThisVirus · 11/01/2021 22:34

;) no Bluebaubles, I was being tongue in cheek!

I plan on being at home on the weekend with my family, like most other people! and my eyes are fine and I have no idea where Barnard castle is except that it's a bloody long way from me (and DC!)

(Mum humour lost on Mumsnet!) ;)

BoJo can't exactly jog safely around central London can he

MajesticWhine · 11/01/2021 22:39

Much as he is not doing an admirable job, I really don't think Boris Johnson should have account for his movements to the daily mail.

Username198 · 11/01/2021 22:42

@roarfeckingroarr Lots of people can’t safety jog around the streets where they live due to shocking crime rates.

roarfeckingroarr · 11/01/2021 22:44

@Username198 I live in central London. Its hardly a ghetto. Maybe take that up with Khan.

Username198 · 11/01/2021 22:48

@roarfeckingroarr Well I live in central Manchester and there’s reports of muggings every week on my street.

LimaFoxtrotCharlie · 11/01/2021 22:51

A 14 mile bike ride (there & back again ) is exercise and therefore allowed.
I think Boris is a Twat but cycling less than 20 miles is well within the guidelines/spirit of lockdown.
