Masks and breathing through mouth

I have started wearing masks outside, but have noticed myself breathing through my mouth more. Do any scientists know whether this could be increasing my risk as in not filtering air through my nose, so basically I am just protecting others and not myself?

Masks are mainly about protecting others but do offer some protection to the wearer but I don't know how much without looking at research for the different types of masks. Google is full of info on this if you search for it though.

@FlatteredRhubardFool Much of the info on Google is, however, dubious!

Not if you look for the proper medical/research articles.
