I'm on day 9 now and I've never been so ill in my life. I move back and forth from bed to the sofa at different points through the day. How are you feeling today?

My first three days I was basically fine, but I've had to phone my manager today to say I won't be back at work this week. She was really good about it, even though I think they're really busy.

I was about five weeks I’m afraid. Still not able to walk more than ten minutes without being absolutely dead for a couple of days after. Hope you feel better soon.

DottyWott · 12/01/2021 09:18

You don’t want to hear it but 11 weeks...

Fiadh79 · 12/01/2021 11:46

@DottyWott @RoganJosh That is awful. How long ago was this? How are you both now?

@user1497873278 I hope you start to feel better soon. Is your breathing ok? I have bought a pulse oximeter which is quite reassuring.

RoganJosh · 12/01/2021 11:54

I’m nearly two months in.

user1497873278 · 12/01/2021 13:46

Yes I have an oxymeter which is helpful as I have asthma, so it does help reassure you when your tight chested and breathless, has anyone else had temperature spikes I can go hours but then get hot again. Hope you all feel better soon. Faihd79 I can’t imagine going back to work it’s as much as I can do to get up for 20 mins

Was about 10 days then would get up for short periods and have regular naps.

SunshineCake · 12/01/2021 13:49

First time around I was in bed for fifteen days. I'm on day 1/2 for round two now. Seriously fed up.

SunshineCake · 12/01/2021 13:50

It was seven months before I stopped feeling shattered in the afternoon and the daily chest pain went.

StepBackPlease · 12/01/2021 13:56

Just to offer some balance OP I tested positive on 23rd Dec, felt rough, achey and tight chest from Christmas Day to 30th Dec (but only spent prob 2 days total in bed during that time as the whole household had it so had to split childcare with DH).

Felt a bit better on NYE and was able to sit up in the evening, went out for a gentle walk New Year's Day but was still a bit breathless. Have felt pretty much completely back to normal from 3rd/4th Jan.

Very aware how lucky I am to not have any lingering after effects, most people I know who've had it have made a full recovery fairly swiftly.

Hope you feel better soon

Lightsabre · 12/01/2021 14:01

About 4 weeks then very slowly sat out in the garden (earlier this year) for longer and longer periods. Couldn't walk properly as too breathless for several months unfortunately. I was off work for five months altogether.

Fiadh79 · 12/01/2021 15:53

I suppose this is the thing. There is no predicting how this will affect people. It's all just down to luck.
