Masks

I always wear a mask if I go inside anywhere or have to get within 2m of someone to pay for something outside (eg market stall) but is the advice now to wear one all the time we are out of the house?

I am in London and live near a big park - I took my DC there yesterday and it was absolutely heaving with people. People in groups etc. I felt quite uncomfortable and we left pretty quickly.

I said to DH that I would wear a mask if we go again today. DH thinks that is ridiculous but is it? Should we be wearing masks when out in public?

@WalkingOnStarshine social distancing was not in evidence - groups of people standing around together, obviously not one household, some walking but four abreast so impossible to avoid on a path, add in joggers and cyclists, kids on scooters, skates, dogs etc and it was pretty crowded and uncomfortable.

Last lockdown I remember people leaping off kerbs to avoid each other but the opposite seems to be happening now.

Of FFS.

  1. Yes they got it in the park. 1/14 have it.. it’s highly contagious. They met a (subsequently) positive person in park. Spent time together. Live on own. Got test and trace call. Positive.
  2. They didn’t get covid the same day. Obvs. But point is positive people are, of course, wondering around unknowingly with covid.

So just wear a mask. That’s not scaremongering it’s bloody sensible when it’s so transmittable and off the scale.
