Husband has been in contact with a positive case found out today contact was Thursday and yesterday.
His boss has asked him to book a test so he has for later today and if negative back to work?
Doesn't seem right to me but looking for another opinion.

Would a test even detect him being positive even if he was so soon after exposure?

No that’s not right. If he has no symptoms and a negative test still need to isolate for the right number of days.

tuliparcher · 09/01/2021 15:37

My colleagues tried to book a test after being in contact with me, but they weren't allowed to take a test as they had no symptoms. They had to self isolate for 10days after last contact with me

JerichosPenisInADeadChickHat · 09/01/2021 15:53

Nope. Can't test your way out of isolation. 10 days at home/garden

bobbiester · 09/01/2021 16:20

Nope. Boss is wrong. Isolate for 10 days. If symptoms appear then get a test.

Thanks all! Thought is sounded wrong will get him to message his boss now.

No boss is wrong. The confusion may arise because this is what the government are now saying is ok for schools to follow. But not the general public. Confused
