I had mine yest. Completely painless having it but they warned of a sore heavy arm later on I wasn't expecting it. My arm feels like its been punched and is hard to lift, feels like lead. 3 colleagues have the same. It will wear off and I'm not worried but wasn't expecting it. Anyone else?

My sister -an ITU nurse had hers yesterday. Said it hurt a bit and she cried tears of relief and joy when she did. She text this morning to say she’s sore now.

cptartapp · 09/01/2021 07:35

Yes had mine yesterday. Just the same.

CaptainMyCaptain · 09/01/2021 07:36

DH has had both doses. His arm was sore and he felt a bit rough for a day after the second dose.

Covidcovid · 09/01/2021 07:38

I have and yes, exactly the same.

Never had an injection before which has caused my arm to hurt so much. I had my injection on weds. Arm was agony Weds night and very sore and heavy on Thursday. Bit tender yesterday seems ok this morning.

Spaghettipie1 · 09/01/2021 07:40

Yes, same here. Wore off after a day and felt really tired for a couple of days. Very relieved to have had it.

emmy4 · 09/01/2021 07:40

I had my 2nd dose Tuesday, about 22 hours later I felt aching all over my body, arms aching and headache. I am totally fine now

Letsbegin · 09/01/2021 07:41

Had mine yesterday morning, very sore arm last night took some paracetamol and got straight to sleep but was a bit feverish in the night. Painful this morning but not too bad.

simonthedog · 09/01/2021 07:41

Had mine yesterday too, feels exactly the same.

emmy4 · 09/01/2021 07:42

After the first dose I only had a sore arm, no other symptoms.

Wierd isn't it? Not sure why this one causes the pain afterwards when so painless going in.

This morning it hurts to lift up my arm still.

When did you have your first dose? Was it 3 weeks before your second?

Yes, it was a relief and a good feeling at work but know we still have to be really careful.

It seems that everyone has felt the same.
Does anyone know why some vaccines hurt a lot more after than others? I'd love to know medically why this is.

DH said its because of the chip they put in me Grin joke btw

I had my first dose on NYE. Second one not booked in until early March. I work on the Covid wards in a hospital and am currently in bed with a high temperature and a cough - came on at work yesterday. Waiting to get my Covid results this morning. Am keeping everything crossed that the vaccine has given me some protection, and if it is Covid, I won’t be too ill. Feel rough as hell right now though Sad

emmy4 · 09/01/2021 07:50

Yes, 21 days after .

ShetlandWife · 09/01/2021 07:58

@Sparklehead Flowers

Hope you feel better soon

Had my first one the other day, didn’t feel it going in (apparently they used diabetic needles?) arm felt bruised for about 24 hours. Have heard that most people feel a bit ill after the second dose, but seems a small price to pay.

Will we definitely have the second dose or was it just the Oxford one they are only doing one dose on.

MadisonMontgomery · 09/01/2021 08:11

Yes, as far as I know, as I say some people have had a second, and I was told when I had mine I would be.

Lulumona · 09/01/2021 08:13

My friends mum had it a couple of weeks ago ... painless but have weak leg muscles and trouble walking now .. hopefully will wear off .. should vaccine be taken if you have a weak immune disorder? Does anyone know .. I read it shouldn't

Jessicabrassica · 09/01/2021 08:18

I had mine 22.12. Arm painful for 24hrs but otherwise fine. Second dose postponed to 12 weeks...

Toddlerteaplease · 09/01/2021 08:24

Yes. I had a sore arm. I put it due. To the size of the microchip. Also had a mild headache for a couple of days afterwards. Feel incredibly grateful to have had it.

Toddlerteaplease · 09/01/2021 08:26

The doctor who did mine used an ordinary needle. Not a diabetic one. She also Flicked my arm as she gave it. I literally didn't feel a thing. Apparently because the pain receptors react to the flicking rather than the injection. Or something like that. I'll try it next time I give a flu jab.
