I had mine yest. Completely painless having it but they warned of a sore heavy arm later on I wasn't expecting it. My arm feels like its been punched and is hard to lift, feels like lead. 3 colleagues have the same. It will wear off and I'm not worried but wasn't expecting it. Anyone else?

@ShopTattsyrup

I've had both my doses, same as you - dead and very sore and stiff arm for about 24-36 hours afterwards. Completely gone by the following bed time but needed help getting my uniform off at the end of my shift the day of my jab because I couldn't get my arm high enough Blush
Same, I'm so lucky its my day off today. I couldn't lift the hairdryer, how people are managing at work today I have no idea

I was very lucky and got a dose that was about 30 minutes from being discarded yesterday.
My arm feels a little bruised, no other side effects as of yet.
I felt nothing having the jab, not even the sharp scratch! My flu jab was much worse Smile

My 88 year old mum had her second dose yesterday, just a sore arm that night and following day on both occasions which was slightly worse after the second dose.

Anyone know anything about how the vaccines are being rolled out regionally? I have just heard that a relative in London is getting one this weekend (retired, mid seventies not a care worker) while my surgery (North West) will only be starting to vaccinate the over 80s next weekend.

Some places got their vaccine sooner than others. My local hospital where DH works was one of the first hubs and is now vaccinating staff in 40s and 50s without underlying conditions. DH's 80 year old mother in another county hasn't had hers yet. It's just logistics.

Painful arm for a day and the best sleep I had in weeks that day - wish this one lasted longer!

barbites · 09/01/2021 14:28

@CaptainMyCaptain that's interesting. People under 50 aren't even in the priority order:

• Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
• All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
• All those 75 years of age and over
• All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
• All those 65 years of age and over.
• All individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality
• All those 60 years of age and over
• All those 55 years of age and over
• All those 50 years of age and over

You husbands hospital must be doing extremely well.

RosesforMama · 09/01/2021 14:30

Barbites: health workers are getting vaccinations. Priority 2.

barbites · 09/01/2021 14:30

@CaptainMyCaptain sorry, didn't realise you said staff. Staff are obviously in the priority order.

Popfan · 09/01/2021 14:46

My 81 dad had the Pfizer last Wednesday, no after effects at all, not even a sore arm.

Covidcovid · 09/01/2021 15:53

@BlowDryRat

I'm jumping in with a question if you don't mind. Do you get a piece of paper saying you've had the vaccine? I'm wondering how I prove I've had it when I travel in future.
Yes. I was given what they called my “covid passport”. Was told to keep it safe as in the future I “may need it to enter some places”. Which I took with a pinch of salt.
Haggertyjane · 09/01/2021 16:03

flu jab is the same

WhyDoesItAlwaysRainMe · 09/01/2021 16:13

@emmy4

Yes, 21 days after .

Have you had it for 21 days or has it just started

Felty · 09/01/2021 16:15

I’ve had both of mine. Sore arm for 24 hours and then resolved.

emmy4 · 09/01/2021 19:13

I had my 2nd dose 21 days after my first dose.
