For the economy and job market?

Do you personally know anyone whose job will not survive when furlough ends? I was having this debate with my family about the current situation and they believe there will be more job losses once furlough stops.

Surely by that stage we should have the vaccine and businesses can begin to trade as normal thereby stopping the need to lay off staff?

Once the vaccine is rolled out things might start to look up a bit.
A lot of business have received money and help to stay afloat , so I'm hoping that they can start up again. I know I sound simplistic here , but the idea of these grants was a long term strategy to try to kick start the economy once the restrictions are lifted.
Lots of people are wfh so they are keeping the economy moving too.
Hospitality has been hit hard , but once people can go out I'm sure everyone will be desperate to go to restaurants and pubs and cinemas , especially the young.
Of course there will be a deep recession but I'm hopeful that things will turn around quickly and the vaccine will work.
Maybe pubs etc will need to recruit more people so creating more jobs ( one example)
I'm trying to stay positive and having the internet has also kept things ticking over too. At least some retail places can do click and collect , which must have helped to keep some things going.
I'm sure that not everybody will share my optimism and believe me I'm usually a 'glass half empty 'person, but this is how I hope to see it panning out but I'm under no illusions that it'll be a long haul this year.
It hinges so much on the vaccines.
