No,
It’s shite

BethHarmon · 06/01/2021 18:25

I wonder she could actually explain how enforced clapping on the doorstep on a freezing cold January evening lifts anyone’s spiritsHmm

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 06/01/2021 18:26

No. I didn’t last time and won’t be doing so this time.

PhilCornwall1 · 06/01/2021 18:26

@BeyondThunderdome

Don't anyone dare clap on my behalf, or I'll send the bloody clap in the post for you!
😀

Don't spread that around, we're in enough shit as it is!!

Viviennemary · 06/01/2021 18:28

No to clapping.
No to that dreadful jo wicks person
And no to Christmas lights.

CranberriesChoccyAgain · 06/01/2021 18:29

Same. I'm sure the keyworkers would like to be appreciated by their employers financially or in terms of working conditions than given a meaningless round of applause.
catfeets · 06/01/2021 18:29

@BethHarmon my neighbour is the same. It's a constant revolving door - yet she'll be the first out clapping (just an excuse to be a noisy bastard tho).

EleanorRigbyWasReal · 06/01/2021 18:32

Would you give a round of applause to a barrister in lieu of crap working conditions and pay? No.

CranberriesChoccyAgain · 06/01/2021 18:36

I've got one of those too. 😄 She works in the NHS too but the rules don't apply to her you see.

Againstmachine · 06/01/2021 18:36

Didn't clap last time and about three weeks in my next door neighbour very aggressively started banging their fucking pans on my door. Wankers.

They would get a frying pan shoved up their backside sideways.

RingPiece · 06/01/2021 18:56

No. During this 'lockdown' I am working full time all day then having to work from home each evening. Neither do I have the time nor the inclination.

colonelchicken · 06/01/2021 18:59

Oh no. Wankers with fireworks again

gingercat02 · 06/01/2021 19:06

Clap for carers can piss off!

AgeLikeWine · 06/01/2021 19:09

Must what we need. More performative virtue-signalling.

Anyone who mixed with elderly relatives at Christmas and is hypocritical enough to stand outside and clap for the NHS deserves a bullet in the back of the head.

sashagabadon · 06/01/2021 19:22

I’m looking forward to it Grin
The first one back in March was in the dark then it got lighter and lighter as the weeks went on. It’ll be practically the one year anniversary if we do it for 10 weeks again Grin

Letsskidaddle · 06/01/2021 19:23

If you want to do anything to help the NHS, teachers, carers, retail staff... stay at home!

Seriously if we all stuck to the rules (now the law) it would be the biggest help. Looking at you, entitled z-listers, especially!

Pissedoff1234 · 06/01/2021 19:32

Oh I'm not doing this again. Seriously it means fuck all. They need a bloody payrise. I have lots of friends who work for the NHS and they hate the clapping and would much rather be given more respect by the government in the form of their working conditions.

Plus this sounds a bit different. Its called Clap For Heroes and they've included carers, key workers and home schooling parents. I do think that everyone who is doing the right thing, keeping kids educated at home or at school and of course those keeping the shops and utilities moving and keeping us alive are heroes. Everyone who has lived through this year is. So who are we clapping for. Ourselves. Ridiculous idea.

BunsyGirl · 06/01/2021 19:37

I won’t be clapping. Find it too difficult to clap for an organisation that couldn’t even be bother to find a CPAP mask to fit my mum properly - in the middle of the summer and not during a pandemic. Just hurts too much. But my neighbours look down on me because of it.

WhiteChocTwix · 06/01/2021 19:42

I'll just quietly email the team that make my DFs days in the care home ok and say thank you, as I did over Crimbo.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/01/2021 19:45

Clap for heroes?
Dear lord, isn't it about time there was a cure for that?

Dawnlassie · 06/01/2021 19:47

Its not an essential reason for leaving the house and like fuck am I standing in the doorway letting the hot air out.

TheOpen · 06/01/2021 19:48

NHS staff need a payrise, not a round of applause. I'd rather everyone used the time to write to their MP.

WhiteChocTwix · 06/01/2021 19:48

I gave my DN months of free lessons in my specialist subject before Covid put pay to that. Never needed clapping or paying! Just enjoyed being the aunty who made learning fun and spending time together. World's gone bloody mad with clapping 🙄😳

SpaceRaiders · 06/01/2021 19:49

Nope, I’ll pass. They’d rather have an extra £100 a month in their pay than a pointless nationwide clap.
