Cut-off DOB for vaccine age groups

Hi, my mum's about to turn 70 next week. Like most we are anxious for her to get the vaccine as soon as possible. Does anyone know what cut-off date is used to determine which age group a person falls in? Is this a set date or rolling with the vaccine roll-out? Or is this decided locally, for example by her gp and therefore might be different across the country? Thanks

My DM is 88. She is mobile and lives on her own in London. There has been nothing from her surgery regarding any vaccine....I am her point of contact for the surgery and I really dont want to have to call them as I am sure they have better things to do but their website doesnt say anything about CV19 so will leave it a week or so and then WILL call them

I wonder too. I am 59 and will turn 60 in May. You would have thought that when the system decides who can have a vaccine will go on that particular date, so hopefully when your Mum will be included in the over 70’s rollout, after they have done the over 80’s.

I know supplies haven't been given to all surgeries yet. Our GP is going to be getting some, but they haven't arrived, nor have they been given a date. So they're going to be behind all the places who started days ago!

It may be the same as it is for 'flu. If you turn 70 before the end of March this year, you are in the 70 age bracket. If after that then you'd still be in the 65 bracket.

Thanks everyone. I won't be mithering the gp about this, just Mumsnet! 😉 Time will tell. Just hope they can roll out the vaccines as fast as they are planning to.

This is who they are doing at the moment. My dad is getting it this week when he already has a hospital appointment (83)
