@CuriousaboutSamphire He shifted the zeitgeist as to what people thought was expected of them individually. As PP said it has been shown in dropping levels of compliance from the moment of his incident. Seems a strange coincidence...

And I don’t think it’s necessarily a conscious thing. It’s an ethos as I said before

CuriousaboutSamphire · 06/01/2021 13:04

I get that, really I do. But he wasn't the only one, he was one of many, all parties. They collectively most definitely caused a shift in the zeitgeist.

But as an individual... he was held up and demonised by journalists doing much worse; supported by a government that was desperate to make such things just disappear; used as an excuse by those who were probably not sticking to the civid regs anyway!

Not that it really matters any more. What was done then led us to where we are now... hopefully our Dear Leaders won't be so stupid this time round... [not holding breath]

@Ohbabybab

It’s an ethos and his actions shifted that in the collective

Well, the 'collective' are frankly dumb if one person's ethos (DC's) can permeate so easily

Justpassingtime1 · 06/01/2021 13:27

People will only listen when it has an impact on them.
Otherwise they are not concerned.

"Dominic Cummings had a big impact on this. He broke the collective responsibility. People saw he made individual choices rather than sacrifices and it made them feel like mugs for putting themselves"
He made people seriously angry! People who've had chemo canceled, people who've lost love ones who've died alone. I mean Covid has directly and indirectly killed people and traumatised their loved ones, and DC's despicable actions will not be forgotten!!!
