Anyone else know no one who has had covid?

Or maybe one person? The only person I know is my sister who was frontline NHS during the first lockdown on a covid ward, so pretty inevitable, got it and recovered within a few days in April.

Dd in nursery, parents own residential care homes for adults with learning disabilities, no staff/residents have had it (thank god).
Brother at uni. Big social circle with no cases.

Is it a possibility that some people are naturally immune to it? Can’t believe it’s been nearly a year and I don’t know anyone to have got it!

I know 5 people who have it at the moment, and know personally 100 or so people who've had it, but I work in a hospital so recognise our exposure is higher.

Socially, I know 3 people who have had it. My friends and family are generally a pretty cautious wfh bunch.

What is the point of these threads???

MsAwesomeDragon · 06/01/2021 22:25

I wish I didn't know anyone who's had it. I know over 30 people personally who have had it, with varying severity, plus a while lot more that are friends of friends.Of the people I know personally, 4 have died, 3 needed hospital treatment but are recovering well now, and the rest managed at home either being ill for weeks or having the sniffles for a few days.

Our local hospital are on the highest alert level as they can't cope with the volume of covid patients coming in. Patients are being moved out of area (about an hour away by ambulance) to ease the pressure on the hospital.

Up until October, I knew no one who had had it. And then it went a bit crazy, with colleagues and family members having it. Fortunately, none suffered anything more than a slight cold or loss of taste and smell.

Our mortuary is full with a 5 week lead time on coffin orders - we have pre ordered over the festive period and hired storage as our small independent home can’t stock empty coffins.

It’s a sad time

I didn’t know anyone who’d had it until last week - now my uncle, aunt and cousins have all tested positive.

caringcarer · 07/01/2021 01:32

The only one I know is sons cricket coach and he was asymptomatic and was picked up as a colleague of his got it so they were all tested. He said he felt exactly as normal. His wife and sons were tested but all negative. I think if you are asymptomatic you have lower viral load.

grassisjeweled · 07/01/2021 01:37

MySafeSpace · 07/01/2021 01:45

I'm in se and don't know a single person who's had it

ProfessorSillyStuff · 07/01/2021 01:49

I caught it from having a date in nov 2019 with a hospital physiologist and don't know anyone else had it meaning I did not pass it!!! Success!

Despite not knowing what the hell it was I just didn't want anyone to feel as bad as I did!
