I'm a lunchtime supervisor at a middle school, for those that don't have middle schools we have yrs 5 to 8.

Back in March last year when we had the first school lock down us LS were told bye cya when we re open and we returned in September.

Fast forward to today, I emailed the school saying if they wanted me to come in at any time to just help out I was willing and able, no kids at home, love the kids at school so happy to come in, got a phone call saying saying well the school is open so you should be here.

No problem with me, I'd rather be working. But some of the other LSs are not happy, saying whats different between this lockdown and the last full lockdown when schools were closed tbf I can see their point as some have kids at home but wouldn't be allowed a key worker place as its only for lunchtime. It was quiet at work today as only 7 and 8 in as they had prepared for that, more in tomorrow with 5 and 6. I think there are more taking up the key worker places this time though.

So not really sure why ive posted this, but just to let the people who keep saying schools are closed, well yep, they are to some extent but yes schools are open, right down to us lowly lunchtime supervisors (and no, we are not dinner ladies, they are the ladies in the kitchen who work for private firms)
