Will schools re-open?

Do you think schools will re-open after the February half-term?

YABU - Yes I think they'll re-open after half term.

YANBU - They will remain closed for longer.

I hope they're closed until a significant amount of people have had the vaccine!

I really hope they do but they probably won’t, I’m guessing it’ll go on till after Easter.

Schools aren’t closed! We are expecting 60% of pupils in tomorrow that fall in the “key worker” classification.

At least Easter i think. I'd be very surprised if it was earlier.

I think Easter at the earliest with a gradual return for pupils over the summer term then all of them hopefully back in September. Universities and colleges will probably stay online/virtual for the remainder of the academic year.

They might bring back a few years first of all like last time I guess?

I don't reckon they'll go back until September. I really hope I'm wrong. The only benefit would be a lot of people will be vaccinated by then so might avoid similar problems next winter.

Another Easter

Reckon by the end of feb kids will be back. I highly doubt it will last another year.

Frankly if they are worried about opening schools at the end of February then they need to tell everyone in the top 4 categories who haven't had 2 doses of the vaccine to shield. If the vaccine is given purely on mortality stats then reopening needs to be on the same basis in which case schools should open before anything else.

I think after Feb half term, positive affirmation and all that! I can't cope with thinking otherwise!

After half term, but like last year it will be a phased return of year groups.

Easter I think

Schools are not closed.

However there is no way anyone can know any better than you when normal classes will resume. Hopefully that won't be until the vaccination programme is well established, numbers are considerably lower and the NHS is under much less pressure.

I just hope they don't fuck up the return.

I think they’ll open in June

With more than half of children in schools they are certainly not closed.

June! I'm hoping for March at the latest...

I can imagine in a best-case scenario where they really crack on with vaccinating people and the lockdown works we could have primary schools opening by late March. But based on the government's ability to roll thing out on time I'm not holding my breath.

Easter seems a safer bet.

God hopefully not that long. But with the amount of kids at school I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Easter. The parents that are happy with the schools shut are the ones who have spaces in them just now.
