Would you/should I be going into work when my child is on the ecv list? Work are saying I’m expected in. It’s a large DIY store, so busy and cannot work from home.

Get washed and changed as soon as you come in.

Ideally you would be at home, shielding with your child, but I have no clue where that leaves you with respect to getting paid anything.
Can they give you unpaid leave? Do they furlough any staff & could you ask for that ?
I am so sorry OP, that’s a tough place to be.

Unfortunately that's not the advice, only the shielder has to shield. You could request unpaid leave or use annual leave but that's all they have to give you really (and they don't even need to approve that if they don't want to).

Thanks for replies. I’ve asked for options, furlough due to childcare or unpaid leave. I will hear back tomorrow hopefully.
