I’ve been reading the threads on here about how overwhelmed schools are for keyworker and vulnerable children places and this is so totally different to my experience! Are most schools overwhelmed by people needing keyworker/vulnerable children places?
For context i have two children who go to different primary schools in the West Midlands , dd who is 4 has 4 children in her year in out of 60 and dd who is 10 has 7 children in her year in out of 30.

Our school is claiming its full when they've taken less than 20% and turned away children with 2 keyworker parents and children with multiple SNs that did not engage with school in 4 months.

Secondary with 2000 kids; Greater Manchester, between 80 and 90 in per day. We've separated by year group but also have a few students separated for behaviour already (spitting on students and staff, and fighting with nearly every student them come across). Can't send them home due to being looked after children with giant complexities. Students are doing work set online for other students, but we did let up and show a film in each room on Friday afternoon as they were obviously exhausted. When the weather improves we will get them outside doing something sporty as well, but it snowed/froze heavily most of the week. Sports hall is out of bounds as that is where we are testing.

Most of the students are vulnerable, some with complex EHCPs, including a few 6th formers who are in the 6th form work room for internet access/somewhere quiet/those who normally have 121 support in school. We have given them kitchen access too (usually for support staff in that particular building) so we can keep them isolated from the main student body. We are expecting a few more in to be honest so that set up will work well.

We have 10 teaching staff, 4 support staff, 2 SLT and 2 admin in per day, as well as 50% of our cleaning and site crew. Canteen staff have been halved but some are delivering FSMs to a few families.
