Vaccine musing

Just wondering really if we will be able to tweak a vaccine to potentially cover all strains in the future? If the SA one requires us to tweak the vaccine (not proven by scientists yet to be the case) then presumably we may have to tweak again and again as new strains become known to us? Would this mean the current vaccine which is in use today would need to be followed by the tweaked one(s)? Any scientifically minded folk out there know? Thanks

Yes this is possible and what already happens with the flu vaccine. It’s always been thought that this will have to happen for covid. It may end up like the flu vaccination program, with a vaccine every year for the vulnerable groups.

So potentially one vaccine could 'cater for' all of the different strains?
