Year 11 - what now?

He's losing interest in his education, feels very low and his self confidence is dwindling. He engaged really well when he went back in September, but is struggling with self directed learning, and his school hasn't set him any work, or a timetable, or guidance. Nothing. No updates on their website or social media accounts!

It's all so worrying. What now?

Hopefully they will spend the day getting their shit together and then provide a timetable and workS

Our school is following their normal timetable, so today year 11s have RE lesson 1 etc.

Does he want to do A’levels? If so I would suggest concentrating on those subjects for a few days until he has more of an idea of what school will

Hopefully the school will set a programme of lessons soon given that they found out about school closures when we did. DS's school had planned online learning to start today so he's mostly following his normal timetable.

Does your DS know what subjects he wants to do for A level? Maybe try find some websites/reading to do with those subjects.

My DS is currently reading The Body by Bill Bryson and Fifty Things That Made the Modern Economy.
