When did the first lockdown end?

There was probably an announcement that I’ve missed and nobody told me but I don’t actually remember hearing that lockdown was over. As far as I knew we have been in lockdown, under a variety of different restrictions, since March. I could take a guess that it ended for the eat out to help out scheme but there were still restrictions even then.

It wasn't a hard border between lockdown and non-lockdown, there was a gradual shift.

After the May half term when schools began to teach some years in-person again I think was the beginning of the end.

I started returning to something approaching "normality" after 24th July when face masks in shops etc became mandatory - which made it seem a lot safer to go shopping.

Yes I remember being aware of a gradual change in behaviours and kept wondering when they would announce lockdown was over. It seems they didn’t, they just gradually relaxed the rules. And now I keep hearing about “the first lockdown” and I’m like “but we’re still in the first lockdown!” Grin
