Leaving house for work

I wasn’t working during the last lock down. Between lockdowns I got a new job, which I love. It is not possible to do my job from home, and my boss would like to me to continue into work over lockdown (although is being very reasonable, and flexible). I have to get a train to get to work.
My work is by no means essential, but it is likely that the business will fail if we don’t keep working.
I am unsure if I am allowed to go to work under the current rules. Can I?

Yes, if you can’t work from home you can go into work

I took the rules to mean if you absolutely can't work from home then go to work. If both you and your boss are entirely comfortable with you going into work, then I would still go in x

Yep, you can travel for work if your work cannot be done from home.

Yes. If you cannot work from home and your workplace is allowed to be open then you can go into work. I work in manufacturing and we have operated throughout all lockdowns.
