Will Opticians and Dentists remain open?

For emergencies I think. Like the first lockdown.

Dentists are specified in the government document as staying open.

Opticians aren't mentioned but there's another thread on here confirming they remained open in the November lockdown.

I think now they are used to the operating environment they may well be counted as medical appts both are pretty essential to be fair

My dad was due to have a routine opticians appointment tomorrow but it got cancelled early this evening. We're in Scotland btw.

I hope so as I've just ordered my 14 y. O new necessary glasses.
They said due in 2 weeks.

I managed to get glasses from Specsavers last Lockdown. Absolutely required for my job. They were not open as such (only to key people if I remember correctly and my prescription was on file).

I need a pair fixed so will take them to the store near work tomorrow.

DD1 works for SpecSavers, they are open because they take referrals from Hospitals.

My dentist tier 4 just yesterday I lost a crown. Looked at website - emergencies only. Definition of emergency broken tooth and extreme pain, significant bleeding. Swelling causing probs breathing. Etc.
Assume will be the same.
Severely reduced times available longer appointments more
Cleaning etc and mine charges £25 extra for their need to clean and protect themselves and equipment now needed to ensure safety.

Yes dentists are remaining open. I've just checked this as we're due dentist appointment this month. Been cancelled 3 times now so I'm still anticipating they might cancel us again

Thats part of the reason why I'm asking. My and dd have glasses ordered and my prescription has changed so will need so I can help with home learning.
