So do we think they will arrest Dominic Cummings too. He did a similar journey after testing positive.

Quite.

She, knowing she was positive mixed with members of the public.

YardleyX · 05/01/2021 10:07

She makes Cummings look like a proper goody two shoes.

How she’s has the gall not to stand down as an MP, I cannot fathom.

Randomrebel · 05/01/2021 10:13

I still think Cummings should also be arrested as he broke the law and twisted it to suit his own agenda. I think seeing him get away with this was very damaging and encouraged many to similarly break and bend the rules to suit their own agendas.

He did not travel having tested positive.
He did not make a similar journey.

His wife felt unwell (but did not have a cough or fever which were the only symptoms at the time) so they travelled to Durham on the Friday night to the home on his father's estate. He felt unwell the following day.

Margaret Ferrier travelled on public transport after taking a test and then she did the reverse journey when she tested positive for Covid. She put other members of the public at the train station and on the train at risk. DC was in a private car with his wife and child and it was his wife who felt unwell (and had not been tested for the virus). Totally different scenario.

No, DC won't be arrested.

The police investigated and found he had not broken the law.

I can't abide the SNP, but I think this is ridiculous. She made a mistake.
A mistake? Her behaviour was totally reckless and endangered the lives of others.

I'd be much more inclined to question the morals of all the celebs and influencers jetting off to Dubai.
You are more likely to question celebrities' morals than prosecute an MP who actually broke the law and endangered the lives of others? Mmm.

I agree that it is ridiculous that people who weren't allowed to travel in tier 4 flew into other countries. At least in the case of Elliot Love in Barbados, a celebrity who refused to enter a quarantine base and tried to fly home when Covid-positive, he will face the law there.

Why are airlines still flying these celebs on their banned holidays? Maybe airlines should take some responsibility too?

Cummings was super cunning. His legal defense was just enough barely beyond reasonable doubt. This was only because there was not apparently any good CCTV footage or other incriminating evidence available. However is this the man of utmost trustworthy and non self obsessed arrogance. Has he a more saintly than sainthood non manipulative history? Can you trust this man to always tell the truth and nothing but the truth or is he just an expert at manipulating circumstantial evidence with supportive connections of the highest order? Importantly is he in most part responsible throughout his blatant above the law attitude - the one key public figure to turn otherwise rule following subjects to subsequently also ignore Covid risk mitigation rules too. I suggest his biggest detrimental consequence was opening the floodgates to mass community non compliance to any subsequent government imposed Covid emergency laws and expectations of mutual duty of care to all. Cummings set the unacceptable standard of non compliance and fragrant disregard to civic duty of care to protect each other in an invisible asymptomatic super spreading pandemic. That and Brexit is his legacy. So green light to super spreading and taking back control. He took back personal control to ignore Covid rules as well as Brussels.

@reformedcharacters

She went on 2 trains, stayed at a hotel, went to a building full of people, ate out at a restaurant with colleagues, went to a church, went to a salon, went to a church full of elderly people and went shopping; doesn’t compare.
Absolutel this! It is nothing like that Cummings did - it is blatantly substantially worse.

And her whining that she was 'hung out to dry' by the SNP rather than take responsibility for her own failings is just appalling. I have no sympathy for the woman!
