Anyone else feel like they’re waiting for the executioner?

Waiting on BJ’s announcement this evening. We know what’s going to be in it, we know schools are going to close but it still feels like waiting for the executioner having to wait for that announcement

There’s a teeny tiny part of me hoping for a stay of execution that’s not going to come

So much for the new year health kick after Christmas excess. I need

Yes I've been "waiting for an executioner" since DH, DS & myself received our positive results last week. Nothing that is announced tonight can equal that feeling.

Thankfully our swift actions saved my elderly DM from exposure - I will happily isolate for another month (or whatever is needed) to keep her and other vulnerable people safe.

@cptartapp Same, mine are both exam years and have been studying for their mocks all holidays. One school could definitely stay open if it's allowed to (full boarding, full testing on return) and I feel so guilty for wishing independent schools could be allowed to make their own decisions whatever.

We are going to need a massive alteration in the flexibility of education for the next few years so that all young people can have the right grounding to move on to further and higher education ready to succeed. For many this is going to require the filling in of gaps, and time to learn and master subject material so they can find their interests and vocations.

Everything points to them still going ahead. Will have to speak to the college.
