Childcare bubble - is this OK?

We are tier 4 / London / schools closing and I packed my three kids off to granny's today (childcare bubble, we haven been in all over Xmas break due to one child self isolating as a close contact and granny has been in too)

Is this OK - within current rules?

And do we think this is going to change tonight?? (IE all household mixing banned again)

Sorry to clarify we have been indoors all over the Xmas break (got a message on 21st that one child had to self isolate until 31st - even though I thought that was wrong as the child's last day at school / potential for contact was 17th but hey ho)

Granny has also been in for whole of festive period.

It’s not really clear what you’re asking

When you say you’ve ‘packed them off to Granny’s’ - how long are you planning on them staying there?

Perhaps ask your Mum rather than Mumsnet

Is she happy looking after 3 small children?
Is she clinically vulnerable?
Would she prefer to avoid the infection risk associated with looking after your DC?

Currently all bubbles are still allowed even in tier 4, can't say if it's a good idea without more info, but at present you haven't broken any rules. After tonight's announcement who knows? It's possible some types of bubble will go, because what else can they ban.

Sorry packed them off for the day, but plan is for them to go tomorrow and Wednesday too and then I have booked Annual Leave until 18th.

It is my MIL and she provides regular childcare and is happy to do so at the moment, as I say we have been isolating over festive period (not even so much as a walk between 21st and 31st due to one of the kids being named as a close contact)

Mine are about to leave to my parents til Friday - still allowed & better for them while I'm crazy busy at work! They are both under 70 but retired.
At a push i might not be able to stay over Friday night & will need to work all day then pick them up & drive back.....let's see.
