@GhostPepperTears

I can't drink! Today is my first day back on the diet wagon. I can't fall off again so soon! Grin

I delayed my diet start day until my children go back to school - so can have a glass of something tonight after 8pm!

BastardGoDarkly · 04/01/2021 15:50

LoudTree is it really your place to be asking people to furlough? He may not be able to afford 20% less money, and isn't doing anything wrong.

And who would determine whats "essential" in your bag?

Get a grip.

Redbrickwall · 04/01/2021 15:50

Do we think construction will still be able to go to work? We are fucked if not as my husband is a builder.

Does anyone recall what the rules were around UK (internal) flights during lockdown? Ie could you fly England to Scotland or NI to England?

nevernotstruggling · 04/01/2021 15:52

Do we think they will ban delivery services?

My DP is in manufacturing and i assumed would be ok along with construction but he isn't sure...
HibernatingTill2030 · 04/01/2021 15:53

Rates in tier 4 are still rapidly rising and kids have been home for last 2 weeks. We need a stronger lockdown still

Tier 4 was announced on December 19th, schools broke up around the same time.
Two weeks (rough incubation time) after December 18th was Jan 1st.
Realistically you couldn't expect to start to see a drop in cases until this week if tier 4 restrictions were going to work.

ktp100 · 04/01/2021 15:53

He's too stubborn and too much of a pussy to do what is required.

I'll be amazed if it's anything decisive.

ComDummings · 04/01/2021 15:54

I doubt they’ll stop construction.

vickyp0llard · 04/01/2021 15:54

Construction was allowed in the first lockdown, so I would assume so.

GhostPepperTears · 04/01/2021 15:54

You're all enablers Smile

Right, diet be damned: I shall raise a glass of something strong and fortifiying to the unwelcome visage of the Big BJ this evening.

chomalungma · 04/01/2021 15:54

If the army and the police can't control us, maybe this can

loulouljh · 04/01/2021 15:55

whats the difference between full lockdown and tier 4???

Bathroom12345 · 04/01/2021 15:55

If it is full lockdown then the usual people will be back first thing tomorrow starting threads stating how they need to be exempt from xx for xx reasons. Whether that be not wearing a mask in a shop because they are exempt or that they MUST visit xxx because of MH reasons.

Its got to stop. People have got to stop saying they havent been out since March and then when pushed say bar normal shopping, visits to friends etc, and the bubbles scenario is not for you to bubble with Jane and family one day and then next day Jill and family plus associated play dates, crafty drinks and coffee.

There should be no exceptions to the rules and people are going to have to live with it and we will then get through this much quicker.

BarbaraofSeville · 04/01/2021 15:55

Maybe they will close absolutely every shop and business except to deliver a government mandated grocery parcel to every household twice a week?

We can then stay at home and amuse ourselves with the threads moaning that the chicken wasn't organic and there was insufficient fruit and veg because 'we eat 10 a day in this house don't you know'.

Eesha · 04/01/2021 15:56

when they say no households mixing, are they saying support bubbles too?

satnighttakeaway · 04/01/2021 15:57

Depends, do you live in @LoudTree 's street?
IndieTara · 04/01/2021 15:57

@LoudTree that's so out of order!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 04/01/2021 15:57

Do we think they will ban delivery services?

God I hope not! I seriously don’t see how they can. If they ban shopping deliveries then everyone will just pile into the supermarkets which seems counterproductive.

I hope they don’t close takeaways either, there’s very little to look forward to at the moment. More importantly it would be the final nail in the coffin for many restaurants

Talisin · 04/01/2021 15:58

@MaudesMum

With the exception of school closures, there's no real difference between Tier 4 and lockdown, is there?
There’s virtually no difference between tier 4 and lockdown 2 but quite a bit of difference between that and lockdown 1. Too many non- essential things are open, if only in a very limited capacity, which encourages people to go out because why are things open if they can’t use them? If you want people to obey a stay at home order then stop giving them unnecessary options, it just confuses the issue.
HibernatingTill2030 · 04/01/2021 15:59

@Eesha

when they say no households mixing, are they saying support bubbles too?
A genuine support bubble is classed as one household. So I doubt it.
TheGreatWave · 04/01/2021 15:59

Bloody hell. I don’t drink on Mondays!

I don't drink at all. I am currently very tempted.

tigger1001 · 04/01/2021 15:59

@LemmysAceCard

Why do people always want to bring the bloody army in? There is approx 78,000 soldiers in the British Army, that includes the ones overseas, on peace keeping tours, guarding Army bases etc, this leaves about 70,000 active soldiers.

There are approx 87,000 supermarkets in England, so not enough enough for 1 soldier per supermarket.

The Army has more important things to worry about, not have to decide if Beryl is out of order for buying a pack of crumpets and a packet of Jammy Dodgers.

Who decides what is essential and what isnt?

The army will never be on the streets or in the supermarkets to stop people going about their lawful and sticking to regulations business.

Dont be bringing logic into it 😂
Etinox · 04/01/2021 16:00

@EndoplasmicReticulum

So if he shuts schools, some primary children went back to mingle for just 1 day.

That was, umm, useful.

Ridiculous isn't it. Thousands of people predicted exactly this would happen Angry
