Inevitable lockdown

Apparently boris just waiting for a week of data to decide if services are overwhelmed. As if he doesn't know this already! It's going to happen so just announce it now instead of delaying the inevitable. School staff and parents stressing to be back a week only to shutdown anyway....is it worth it?

Source?

Ilovegreentomatoes · 03/01/2021 22:18

And by this I mean a national lockdown like the one in march.

Just on the news.

The DMs front page seems to think he'll call it tomorrow.

Ilovegreentomatoes · 03/01/2021 22:20

I think boris under to much pressure now he knows he has no option.

I hope he does or at least closes all schools so that CEV parents like me don't run the risk of catching it and orphaning our dc. Sure I can tell school he won't be in (and I will be doing that if school is still open by Thursday) but I shouldn't be having to make health and safety decisions about school during a pandemic.
So much dither and delay.

SophieB100 · 03/01/2021 22:24

Well Starmer said it should be within 24 hours mid afternoon today, so no doubt, Boris, who won't be told anything, will likely do it any time after the 24 hours is up.
He's a twillock.

Florelei · 03/01/2021 22:26

Urgh this nonsense is endless.

Florelei · 03/01/2021 22:27

I don’t know how I’ll get through another few months without having some sort of mental health crisis

Indecisive12 · 03/01/2021 22:27

Oh FFS

indeed. he is pretty much guaranteed to not do what Starmer says.

Or put it another way, Starmer will feel it's his duty to ask Boris to do something that he knows he won't

LizzieSiddal · 03/01/2021 22:29

Just heard this too. But he will obviously wait until after everyone goes to school tomorrow. Hmm

Newwoman2017 · 03/01/2021 22:29

I feel so torn I want my kids safe, I want to keep my family safe but the thought of going through what we did last year is awful. My daughter suffered terribly being separated from friends..I know I'm lucky that I am able to work at home but its been a real strain at times with the kids there too. Hopefully this time school online will be more structured & fill their time so I can get through my day & then focus on them.

Beebityboo · 03/01/2021 22:29

He'll do it exactly 25 hours after Starmer asked him to

Ilovegreentomatoes · 03/01/2021 22:30

I feel so bad with ppl suffering from poor MH.Im on long term antidepressants which have pulled me through. But all this indecisive action makes it worse it's better to get on with it, shut down and hopefully when we open thanks to the vaccine being rolled out we can stay open this time.

About time, well it will be when he gets round to it.
