Me and DP done corona tests today. When he pulled it out his nose it was stringy with snot 🤢 will this still get an accurate result?

Mine was like that and I got a result ok!

danni0509 · 03/01/2021 15:12

Yes ds was like that, I think it had some of his brain on there aswell as I had to really wrestle him to get it up his nose 😂

It tells you to blow your nose before taking it to ensure it's clear.

If the test comes back inconclusive you know you haven't done it right

snotnose · 03/01/2021 15:14

@herechickchickchickchick he did do that to be fair, it shocked me what came out

Thanks everyone

I had the same thing with DD in fact I googled and I found an article from an America paediatrician saying they collected ‘Boogers’ (sp?) as part of their test for children. Not sure if that’s true or not but DD came back with a result so wasn’t inconclusive.

Spacecadetagain · 03/01/2021 15:28

They do tell you to blow your nose before hand but the swab does go in a long way ! I tested over Christmas (neg) and my swan had blood on it from my nose !

mememeee · 03/01/2021 15:46

That was one of the reasons I didn't take the test. I had sinusitis and I was so snotty. (I didn't have any of the main symptoms)

Icanseeclearlynow12 · 03/01/2021 15:54

I blew my nose before my test and it still came out with snot on!! Positive result

snotnose · 03/01/2021 15:54

Very reassured, thanks everyone

This is a timely thread. I have to take a test on Wednesday and I'm a bit snotty and was a little worried about the nasal swab coming out with snot on it Blush

snotnose · 03/01/2021 16:40

@BentBastard if it's any help, you couldn't tell when it was in the pot!

That does make me feel better (even though I realise it makes no difference really Grin)
