Had a Track &Trace notification, confused

So I had a notification today from the NHS app. I've been in contact with someone who has Covid and I must self isolate for 6 days.

Why 6 days? I thought it was 10?

Does my partner who lives with me need to SI too?

It’s ten days from your contact - so presumably you were in contact with this person four days ago. Your partner does not need to self isolate, it would be sensible for them to isolate from you as far as is reasonably possible.

If you go into about this app, manage my data it will tell you when contact ocurred.

The contact will have been 4 days ago. They developed symptoms within 48 hrs of that contact and have just received/inputted the results.
