When to worry?

I've tested positive for Covid and I'm on my 7th day of symptoms. The past 4 days I have been unbearably breathless whenever I do anything - rolling over in bed, going to the loo, getting changed. I can't speak in sentences without taking a break to catch my breath. I'm utterly fed up now and terrified I'm not going to get better by myself.
Each activity I do makes me cough afterwards, my heart races too.
When do I need to worry? When do I call 111? I'm scared of going to hospital.

Good luck OP, best thing to get checked over and you’re in the best hands now. Will be thinking of you today, let us know how you’re doing when you feel up to it.

I hope you feel better soon op. You've definitely made the right decision phoning.

DrCindyPops · 03/01/2021 11:17

Try to stay calm, you've done the right thing & they will help you. I hope you feel better soon x

Cornettoninja · 03/01/2021 11:20

Try to keep focussed and calm. The paramedics will know what they’re looking for and what needs to be done.

It’s scary but this is better than you struggling alone.

Atalune · 03/01/2021 11:24

They will help you. You’ll be alright.

Well done for phoning today, sorry you felt scared to not do so yesterday. But you’ll get help now

yellowflowers82 · 03/01/2021 11:33

I'm okay! Well, I'm clearly NOT okay but my oxygen levels are ok and I don't have to go to hospital.
I'm so so relieved. They said that after today (my 8th day I think) things might start improving.
I'm still struggling to catch my breath but I'm not panicking now. Thank you everyone for being so kind, you made me cry.

OverTheRainbow88 · 03/01/2021 11:36

Great news, glad your oxygen levels are ok, hopefully your oxi will arrive and you can keep an eye on that yourself.

Rest up, drink lots of water and eat if you can.

Bagelsandbrie · 03/01/2021 11:40

So glad to hear that. Rest up and get well soon.

Lifeispassingby · 03/01/2021 11:41

What a weight off your mind, try to relax now and rest as much as you can xx

Cornettoninja · 03/01/2021 11:46

Excellent news. Try some of the recommendations on this thread and getting some fresh air circulating.

Please don’t hesitate to call 111/999 if you feel you need to again. Covid needs proper monitoring from experienced people to deduce whether or not you are managing and it’s always better to do this as early as possible.

Myshinynewname · 03/01/2021 11:49

Really glad to hear you can stay at home. Hope you start improving soon.

DrCindyPops · 03/01/2021 11:58
