Will Early years close?

DfE last updated on 31st when the info was still some primaries open and private EY nurseries and childminders to open.

So everything else now is closing except early years - what’s the reason behind that as many will now have children off school but can take the younger ones to nursery.

Is it likely nurseries will close?

Early Years is birth to 5, so it covers Reception, too.

The reason people can't simply take their children out is because they risk losing the place. Also, if it's not a state setting, they would still have to pay in full.

Unless you are very vulnerable there is no need to take your kids out.

Our nursery is attached to a primary school and is closing, but friends who have children in private nurseries have been told these are staying open.

I think the issue is that most parents pay for childcare for a reason - because they need to work. Take away childcare and they can't work (or will find it very difficult to).
