Would you take a test?

Sorry!!!!!!!
There are probably a billion threads like this.
I have a really really sore throat. It's keeping me awake. No temp. No other symptoms.

Yesterday- no sore throat. Extreme tiredness, it completely came over me, all of the sudden and I had to go to bed. I had had a bad headache earlier in the day. Nothing else.

Sorry for pathetic Q. I don't want to waste tests/services.
I don't feel Ill just tired/burnt out kind of feeling.
Should you test in this situation? It's rife where I am in London. But I have literally stayed at home, not socialised and followed the rules.. other than going to the supermarket. From time to time.

Yes. Do it. Sounds like the classic anecdotal symptoms.

On the main nhs site you can only get a test if you answer yes to the 3 main symptoms of new continuous cough, high temperature or loss or sense of taste/smell. You would have to lie about your symptoms to get a test. It is known that the secondary symptoms of fatigue, muscle aches and sore throat are sometimes the only symptoms that some people show but it's rare, and those symptoms are more frequently going to be "just a cold".

You could install the ZOE covid symptom tracker app which looks for new patterns in early symptoms. If that asks you to get a test then that allows you to be tested if there is local capacity even if you don't have the 3 main symptoms.

In the first lockdown I had tonsillitis and was told by my GP to get a test.
A week before Xmas I started with symptoms of a cold and I went for a test.
Don’t worry about it, get tested.
