I've received notification to self isolate - but the day in question we went for a walk and I put petrol in the car (paid at pump) I will follow the guidelines, but I just don't see who I could have had contact with. Anyone else experienced this?

I’ve read a few threads similar and I wouldn’t isolate. If you’ve not been in contact and you know you haven’t then why should you?

FanGurrl · 01/01/2021 18:31

True, but there were people around, walking in the opposite direction etc I just wondered if anyone else had the same thing happen having not been indoors or with prolonged contact.

I got the same, had only been to the corner shop on the ‘encounter day’ but got a test (they’re doing community testing in my area) and tested positive. However there’s no way of knowing if I caught it from my 3 minute visit to the shop (unlikely) or already had it anyway and the app alert was just a coincidence and I happened to be in the shop at the same time as someone who 2 days later tested positive. I’m inclined to think it was more likely my children were already carrying it and passed it on. It would be great if the tests could tell you how long you’d had it.

@Ozzie9523 Sorry to hear that, hope you're doing ok.
If I'd been inside anywhere I could understand it, but nope, I was outside all the time.

Next door neighbours? I've heard of people getting alerts because their phones have been close to their neighbour's through the wall.

Delete the app, it's not fit for purpose.
