Still waiting here. Tested at Kettering drive through in East Mids. 47 hours, losing hope it will be today now. Anyone else?

@movingonup20

They are taking up to 72 hours but not all, partly depends on exactly the time of your test as they are only despatched to the central processing labs every few hours, and some labs are quicker than others. The one exh is working in, well running, is taking around 36-48 hours he claims, that's from arrival there, so allow a further 12-14 hours to get it there. With postal tests add 48 hours transit.
Someone on this thread went to the same test centre and had results within 24 hours so I'm now worried it's lost.

joeysapple · 01/01/2021 18:59

@yuyubooboo

We did a swab yesterday at 10am there and got a positive result this morning at 9am
Was this at Kettering too?

@Cherrypie32

Could be a silly question but can you get a result email/txt at anytime, day or night?
I got my result in November at 1am
Feministicon · 01/01/2021 19:18

We tested 28.12 and got two of the three results back yesterday

DieSchottin93 · 01/01/2021 20:32

I'm in Scotland. Got a drive through test on the 30th at midday, had my result at 8am the next day (so yesterday morning). Was told to call a number on a leaflet that was in the testing kit if I hadn't heard back in 72 hours.

jelly79 · 01/01/2021 23:11

I tested weeks ago and the results never came. Isolated for 6 days to test again and get a negative!

TashaTik · 02/01/2021 07:16

Tested 30th and posted back- tracking shows it was delivered at 5.16pm on 31.12. Not results yet.

I've had three tests before- first (June - drive thru) came back in 30 hours, second (Sept- postal) took 58 hours to come back and third (December) took 21 hours.

I'm not expecting result until tomorrow morning tbh.

Just a disclaimer, I work in a tier 4 college and have been asked to test before returning.

humtar · 02/01/2021 07:51

I tested on Tuesday and am still waiting for results. Supposed to be in school on Monday.

Backbee · 02/01/2021 08:11

So a contributor to the backlog is the government not having put seperate testing into place for those who have been told to test before returning to work. Thank goodness I've been at home the past few weeks so there's isn't anyone to notify if it turns out I was positive, but no wonder it's spreading like wildfire if people are waiting days for results and so days for T&T to kick in. FFS.

EasterIssland · 02/01/2021 08:17

I just got my reply after nearly 48h. Unluckily it says not enough sample Confused so have to repeat it to my 2yo.

mountainofdreams · 02/01/2021 08:17

My husband got tested on Monday 21st December in a drive through centre in London. No result yet!

Hermie12 · 02/01/2021 08:38

I did a home test on 30th and just got a negative result this morning

Colycola · 02/01/2021 12:01

Anyone else been to Gatwick?

joeysapple · 02/01/2021 12:54

Still no results here. Debating another test as can only assume they've lost them. 68 hours and counting.

@joeysapple have you called the number on the card? I did and was told I was in the system but not processed ye.

humtar · 02/01/2021 14:18

I've just called the number as I've been waiting 5 days. They're just a recorded message saying they are experiencing too many calls to chase test results, so keep isolating!

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 02/01/2021 14:37

I tested 2pm on the 31st in E London, so it’s been pretty much 48 hours. They told me at the centre to call 119 if not back in 48 hours, just got off phone with them, they said all they can do is check to see if registered properly, which it was, and I need to call back if I haven’t heard by Wednesday.
Luckily I am WFH, but how annoying if you need the result from work.

Loads of people I know locally all had results within 24 hours, so I was getting worried, but hopefully it’s not lost and it will come through.

Don’t see the point of them telling me to call after 48 hours if they can’t do anything for 5 days though 🤷‍♀️

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 02/01/2021 14:38

Press through as though you want to book a test, and you’ll get through. It’s not fair for them to say there’s sorry, too many calls, oh well.
Iamthewombat · 02/01/2021 14:38

75 hours since the test on Wednesday morning and no result yet.

I get that demand is high. It’s the misinformation that irritates me.

At the drive through test centre I was told that I’d probably have a result within 24 hours, and definitely within 48.

When I called 119 after 48 hours had elapsed, I was told that my test was definitely ‘in the system’ but that the test centres were giving wrong information and the turnaround time was 72 hours.

I called again after 72 hours to learn that everything I had previously been told was wrong and that it was taking five days. Plus, they won’t chase the result until the sixth day.

How can people delivering and arranging testing in a pandemic be so incompetent? I bet that the drive through testing centre is still telling people 24 to 48 hours.

How hard is it to make sure that the messaging is correct? It’s a shambles. Bloody Deloitte. Even the people on the 119 testing helpline are contradicting each other.

If I’d known that I’d be waiting five days for a result I’d have ordered food online on the 30th when I took the test. As it is we’re out of bread, vegetables and milk with no prospect of getting to a shop or having shopping delivered for another two days. Fuckwits.

LondonFE · 02/01/2021 16:07

Postal test was received 31st at 5.15- no results yet and coming up for 48 hours now.

We have been asked to test before returning to work on Tuesday (work in a college). The recommended testing date was actually today (2nd) so I'm wondering whether people will come to work on 5th without results to them find they were asymptomatic and positive resulting in another load of staff having to isolate. It's a fucking joke. There's no way the government didn't foresee the demand increasing massively when they started asking all secondary age kids, their families and staff in education to test at the start and end of the holidays in our area (Essex/London borough)

This! Why make testing slots available when you can’t keep up with the tests?

I actually think that they knew all along that test results would take far longer than advertised, and that they are lying about the 48 hours so that people don’t say, sod this, I’m not bothering with a test if I have to wait in isolation for a week.

LondonFE · 02/01/2021 16:30

@Iamthewombat I was told if I had no symptoms I didn't have to isolate while waiting for results!

Iamthewombat · 02/01/2021 16:31

This will shock you: I was told the opposite. Where do they find these people?

yuyubooboo · 02/01/2021 16:32

@joeysapple yep at the Kettering test centre. The staff did the swab - think it was 10am on 31st, may have been 10.30 slot though I'd have to check. No idea why there's so much variationConfused
