NI schools advice?

Just wanted to get some opinions as I'm unsure what to do and my DC school is obviously closed till Monday. My Dc is in nursery class, which is due to start back on Monday, with the primary classes closed. I can't understand how it is safe for my child's teachers and CA to be in a room with 26 4 year olds yet the p1 class are to stay at home. Does anyone know the reason for this? Is it just about childcare? I'm thinking of keeping my child off this 1st week, to hopefully avoid any possibility of being a close contact after all the mixing that might have gone on over Christmas. I'm worried both for the staffs sake but also for my parents who do the pick ups and child minding after school. Anyone any thoughts or advice on this? TiA

Jiggy

I think it probably is about childcare.

If I had a child in nursery and was able to look after them at home I think I'd be inclined to do that for a week or so anyway just to see how things pan out.
Might be better to extend the holiday than go back to nursery and then have to isolate, etc.

Not sure if that helps at all.

So basically I'd feel the same as you.

Thanks for the reply. I hope were not penalised for keeping dc out of school this week but I do think its for the best, I cannot see how they're keeping staff safe. And then the risk to dc potentially bringing something home and passing it on. I work in a school pt (special needs) so I'm in work anyway, but luckily can make it work this week between me my dh and dm.

My gd is going in (nursery) She loves it so much. She was devastated when mother and toddlers stopped in March.
Very few cases in school prior to Christmas.
I do collect sometimes and do childcare. Not unduly worried. Well I’m not going to worry.
