Two key workers needed or just one?

Is there any guidance saying both parents need to be key workers or just one? Supervision very hard for non key worker in our house due to their job type. School have interpreted as both needing to be key workers but can’t see anything re this. Thanks

In March it was just one needed

Depends on school body, our local authority have said from start it needs to be 2, so off to grandparents they go again.

It's depended on the school. Back in March some schools had to say both key workers due to demand

Some schools were saying two but then it was my understanding that they were not allowed to state that as it was not in line with government guidance. Our school started out saying two but then quite quickly changed it to two.

It doesn’t make sense as if you have one key worker on a low wage, a HCA for example, with a high earning non key woker spouse, then the lower earner would have ended up leaving their job - this depriving the NHS of an essential worker.

*quite quickly changed it to one

Thanks all. Yes @Goatscheesewithhoney that’s a real concern. I hope the gov will issue the faqs like they did last time so that all know where they stand
