Length of time for result?

Hi everyone
Does anyone have a theory on whether a longer wait for result is more likely to show a positive or negative result or is it totally pot luck?
My friend got a negative result within 20 hours. My very poorly husband is still waiting for a result after 52 hours from a drive thru test a mile away from my friend's walk in one! Am I reading too much into it?
Wishing those ill a speedy recovery!

I know someone that got a positive result the next day back in October. I’ve just waited 6 days for a positive. I don’t think there’s any pattern, think it depends how busy they are.

Monkey1111 · 31/12/2020 20:35

My negative result took 18 hours.

My negative result took 40 hours a couple of weeks ago. I think there's more testing going on so, so I guess more of a delay.

Hope your DH is ok. If he's really ill, don't hesitate to ask for medical help whatever the result.

I've had negative results range from 12 hours to 6 days, don't think the time makes any difference to be honest.

We went to a drive through at 10.00 on Boxing Day. Almost exactly 4 days later we got positive test results

Thank you. No symptoms except headache and fatigue so far 🤞
