Border Question.

I live exactly on a tier 3/4 border. Can I travel 1 mile for essentials (out of 4 into3) or have I got to travel 15/20 miles so I stay in the higher tier? Thanks.

Go to your usual/closest place. Wear your mask, sanitise your hands , keep your distance

Underhisi · 31/12/2020 10:50

The guidelines say stay close to home where possible which is what you would be doing.

Thanks a lot.

We'll still be shopping in T3 as it's slightly closer & far less busy.

You shouldn’t be leaving tier 4 unless absolutely necessary. You have an alternative in tier 4 so you should use it instead of tier 3

I disagree, use whatever is nearer or what you use routinely. What is the point of travelling 10 miles when you can travel one?
LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 31/12/2020 11:32

Use the closest one. Especially if got to travel 15 miles otherwise. Bit far

It would be stupid to do a longer journey when there is a closer alternative you normally use

The rules also say not to travel outside your local area..so stay local or stay in the tier? Both options are within, and against, guidance so Id say in this case, common sense should prevail and to keep local.

Common sense wins in this case.
